As per the instruction of Kerala Government, this institution was established by Mahatma Gandhi University in the year 1993. Since it’s inception, the institution have been providing quality education to it’s students. The institution posses a large plethora of Alumni who are serving in various prestigious institutions both in India and abroad.
In the year 2017 Kerala Government decided to transfer the affiliation of this institution to Kerala University of Health Sciences with the aim to offer all the courses in health sciences from a common single university in this state. Hence to effect the same, this institution was brought under the management of ‘Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies’ created by Kerala Government.
About SME The School of Medical Education, a self financing college, previously run directly by Mahatma Gandhi University till 2016, came into existence in 1993 with an aim of providing trained human resources in the area of allied medical and health sciences. Now this institution is under the control of Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), a Society established by Government of Kerala.
Courses offered in this institution are B.Pharm (60 seats) and M.Pharm Pharmaceutics (15 seats). In addition to that, this institution is an approved research centre of Kerala University of Health Sciences. The college is situated in the Manarcad- Puthuppally bye pass road at the place Thalappady.
Our vision is to make continuous and significant contributions to the transformation of the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences by training knowledgable and efficient Pharmacy Professionals.
Aim is to provide opportunity to acquire higher education in Kerala for students who have completed their senior secondary education by bridging the shortage of seats available in Kerala Government institutions.
